What should I do if I smell burning from a power point or switchboard?
Turn the power off at the main switch if it's safe to do so, stop using the outlet or appliance, and call us. If there's smoke or fire, get everyone out and call 111.
My power keeps tripping. Is that dangerous?
A tripping switch is a safety device doing its job, but it means something is wrong, such as a faulty appliance, damaged wiring or water getting in somewhere. Don't keep resetting it. Give us a call and we'll track down the cause.
Why do my lights flicker?
It could be a loose bulb or a faulty fitting, but flickering across several lights can point to a loose connection or a wiring problem. It's worth getting checked, as loose connections can overheat.
Do you do electrical safety checks?
Yes. We can check your wiring, switchboard and power points. It's worth doing when buying a house, before renting one out, or if your home is older.
